Most of the fleet was out in more than that recently at weymouth and the only breakage I heard of was on my boat where one of the blocks in the kicker system wore through the 1.5mm vectran strop tieing it to the boat. Hardly surprising and its now been spec'ed up to something entirely more suitable.

Nothing broke on the cherub I sailed, Loco Perro. Nothing major was broken at the nationals that comes to mind. A mast snapping was the biggest thing I can think of, and you cant say that other classes don't have that problem! The boat that had the most problems was "Oops". But what do you expect from a boat that uses modified Royal Mail letter bags as a spinnaker chute! Some of the boats went out in in 30+ knots with no boat problems, just sailor problems . The Welsh boys were fine, nothing broke and no sailor issues. Spinnaker runs all over the shop.

Still want a drag race? Me in my 97' rules cherub (Flat Stanly, picking it up on Friday!) against you in the spice . I might throw on a bigger kite..
When are you next going for a blast day on a big lake? Give me a shout.

Carbon/nomex construction, It's isn't going to break any time soon! A bargain at 2 grand! Carbon rig, 05 rules, self tacking jib, bloodaxe foils, enough sails to fill you bedroom and a combi trailer! On Wednesday, you said you wanted to to get into 12 foot skiffs, Cherubs are the perfect stepping stone.

Disclaimer:
People will say that it's a bit silly of me to be talking about drag racing before I have even got the boat, but it's only for a laugh people!

Where is the blasting weekend? The one at Draycote was awesome last year and I don't even have a cherub!

I would love to! When? But I can't drive and can't get anywhere unless other people have double stacker's and are willing to pick me up. I have to scrounge a lift and a tow, everywhere I go .  The Cherub hasn't got nearly as much sail area as a 14, and I bet you have a kite of about 30-35 meters square! It's only 97 rules (for the moment ). We'll still eat that spice for breakfast!
