Laser 4000 would be a cool option. Cheap, fast. Good To Sail and challenging with an excellent circuit with great national and euro events

Sorry i should have elaborated better, i was refering to the straight line speeds of the boats (watching them whilst trekking behind them upwind), the overall results of that competition were down to boat handling....and not capsizing Doug Edited by Doug.H |

hey strawb, we all know it's in jest ... the forum would be drab otherwise, and you have to admit he could use a haircut, nick
looked at http://www.rssailing.com/fleets.asp?fleet=RS%20Feva and the feva does look good ... ISAF recognition ... 20 to 30 boats at many opens ... under 16 and parent/child fleets ... not bad for a rotomould, and opens up a double-handed route from a young age, as opposed to Oppy > Topper > Laser Radial > Laser which breeds helms sounds like these guys could be a bit beyond a feva though, and a trapeze boat could be a better step up ... straight into a tippy 29er from a topper might be too much of a stretch though, and not much fun, which is what it's all about ... a more stable single trapeze boat for a couple of years would probably see them advancing quicker overall |
