You don't need the trailer entitlement to tow a dinghy, provided it's under 750kg! The limit when towing is 60 on dual carriageway/motorway and 50 on single carriageway.

hmmmm, trailer entitlement? I'd better keep the beard so that I look a bit more vintage in the eyes of the old bill then just in case!

I've been known to have achieved more than a tonne with the cherub in tow... it was only to prove a point when overtaking an idiot in a bodykitted nova though so I think that makes it legal.

I think it's 50 mph...but yeah like we do that!

To be honest the one that catches people out is towing in lane 3 of a motorway (tut  tut) or not actually having a trailer entitlement on your license if you only passed your test in the past few years.

What is the legal speed limit for towing a boat in the UK? I don't tend to drive any slower when i have the boat as the beast copes with it just fine. Perfectly balanced trailer means i have to keep looking in the rear view mirror to check the boat is still there as it is so hard to tell!

Saw a very snotty Porsche Dealer on Saturday

The conversation went thus:

"How much for a tow bar to be fitted?"

"Sir, you can't fit tow bars to any Porsche - not even the Cayenne!!"

Who said you need  some piece of euro trash to go at 60mph. I have towed my 12 at well above the speed limit which is 110km/h,(68mph), Have been booked at 130km/h and got let off. And have been to 140km/h+

Tow vehicle Worked Ford Fairlane like a Vaxhall Monoro.

Don't try this at home or on the street unless you are a professional
