I stayed warm when my crew got taken in and I was wearing a 5mm steamer with rooster poly legs underneath(atcually make a big difference) a rooster hot top and a zhik fleecy rashie. And a FLEECE hat- makes massive difference

what are the rooster poly pro stuff like? i was tempted as a replacement to my hot top which is getting a bit thin now. the legs look like they would be great under hikers. tom |

The legs are a good heat boost I find it helps keep my feet warm at the same time! And theyre really nice to wear so when its not too cold you have to force yourself not to wear them!

I was toasty warm in just my ripcurl surfing steamer and a thermal rashie with a rooster aquafleeze over the top, the aqua fleece was only to keep the wind out, i find as a top its self its not very warm at all. Back in my laser days i used to sail all winter including bala february sessions (the definition of freezing) in a dry top, 3/4 length hikers with a race skin underneath and a couple of thermal tops, that was pleanty warm enough whilst sailing, the moment i came of the water a warm jacket went on over the top to stop me getting cold |

haha nooo not becky or sophie... they decided not to go sailing on sunday so we thought it would be more fun in a fleet of 29ers and much less chance of breaking/hitting anyone! Saturday was mental in a 49er just trying not to hit anyone especially when we were 2 sail reaching and the 29ers could sail higher than us with the kite up... as for the rudder stalling out it is a very fine line, keeping it flat does stop it from happening but if you push the stick and sail it with the leeward back gunwhale just in the water it goes faster and lower. Then you run the risk of the rudder stalling, it happened to alain and I quite a few times on sunday but somehow alain knew when it was happening before i had said anything and flogged the kite once... if that didnt work then just dump the main out to the shroud. The only issue then is snapping the mast as 2 29ers did on sunday and it was not a coinsidence that the 2 29ers that broke there masts were the 2 29ers that had the main flogging on the reaches... as for the end of the race, when we went round the leeward mark it had already finished and the actual finish when we finished was 10mins after!!! |

Didn't go so well then.. And you came 33rd at worlds, shame on you Just joking. Only Hiscocks stayed for the Sunday which was pretty pointless, the course was rubbish for 49ers. Hopefully next year at the Tiger I will actually be on the 49er. You use the flogging technique too So who's 29er did you use? and who was out in the Ovington boats I saw arrive? (with the van). |

There was an Ovington "works" team out in the B14 fleet.

I think that's stretching it a bit Al - AFAIK the boat is privately-owned and paid for, Dave Hall is making some guest appearances on the helm whilst the owner crews. Mike |

The boat carries Ovington sponsership. Whilst it might not be strictly a "works" boat, it is only a few steps away. |

The owner and crew being Phil Eltringham who also works at Ovington Boats! So yes, a 'Works' boat. |
