I don't know precisely, though I think the elections for council are around this time of year. Try their website.....which also has the constitution on it.

i hav jus come out of the youth system and hav 2 say it was a mess in terms of the 420/29er isaf issue they r both great boats and shud boat feature in the isaf youth worlds! as a skiff sailor myself i wud not b bothered about cats getting dropped - not reli into white water rafting or tanks myself! However i hav 2 say it is a bit rediculous!!! esp if Team GBR expects 2 win medals in the Tornado in future ?!? I havnt gone thro and read all the comments about this debate so i hope i am not repeating nethin alredy sed... dus any1 hav any ideas how 2 get Cats, 29ers and 4twinkys in the isafs all together? isaf deff need 2 grow up and stop pissing around, they cudnt organise a piss up in a brewery (quote rizer lol)

i appologise if i have offended any1 but this is a forum

izzy is obviously highly perceptive and has an excellent grasp of the ongoing situation, however a bunch of anchors or not is the R.Y.A. our best or only platform to petition other bodies such as I.O.C., I.S.A.F  etc I know it's friday and people can't really be arsed working and would rather shoot comments like this down in flames-a lot- I am not any more a fan of the RYA and their methodology, if you can call it that, than anyone else. I am all in favour of our own class body but I thouht UKCRA was just that. Could we be risking more than we think by cutting ourselves off completely from the RYA . We would have absolutely no redress whatsoever if we do this. Would our best course not be  to continue applying pressure by the route of petitions etc and instruct them in the art of not being such a "bunch of anchors" quote from Izzy

Thank you for your support (once I had translated it from text talk ).

It is always good to get support from people who don't sail cats.

Well done Nick

I would just like to point out that adding ratings and comments to Nick Dewhirst's article in the News section of this web site (link above) represents another place to air your views. It is more likely to get a wider cross section of sailors reading it - especially if it gets a large list of comments.

PS It is a pity that Mark could not find a nice Cat Sailing picture to accompany it rather than that nasty Wales advert.

967 names on the petition

sorry Worthy not the 1000 you were hoping for......... still by lunchtime.

I have to admit I thought people would be reluctant to sign. Thankfully I was wrong.

This has not only to be a good thing for cat sailors but sailing in general. Maybe now the RYA will consult the people it is supposed to represent in future.
