And so she should, a good one is a much nicer boat... but there in lies the problem. So few new ones make it to this country now that the fleet is gradually getting older and more worn out, and the good ones are hard to come by. But having sailed a Byte with old and new rig on several occasions... and having owned 2 Europe's in the past I know which one I'd buy... again Ian

The reason for asking about Europes was that they are cheapish and smaller than a Laser, so I can't see how making a suggestion about another boat that fits the bill (especially as Europes don't appear to be that cheap currently) is unhelpful.
If a Europe is what is wanted, fair enough. Nice boats, owned a couple over the years.
Yea gods, this forum would be boring if yes/no questions were answered with a yes or a no.

Have you contacted the Europe association?
And just keep watching ebay and the free ads boat sites until one comes up, and take it for a test sail before buying, if possible. |

Rupert, the class sec is actually at neighbouring Grafham, so I've suggested Rachie gets in touch and tries to wrangle a test sail. I know my Europe - can't even remember the sail number ended up down your way somehere...
Great little boat, but I always felt I was a bit too tall. Now I am just plain too fat.... |
