Ok, well ive joined the yahoo group so ill look on there,
and see what I can do.
I mean im not to fused about carbon I mean that would be a
huge bonus, Im really just concerned about heavy hulls,
Would a light carbon rig make up for a slightly heavy hull?
But thanks for the help anyway :)

There's one at my club.  Wavelength hull and rig, carbon boom, several sails.  Seems in good nick.  £2000.  Owner upgraded to a shinier one with more carbon on it.

I was on the brink of buying it myself ... but don't know when I'd sail it.

What might the price be for an old Contender with a wooden deck capable of being made pretty again? Say, for a back-of-fleet sailor.

You could always buy a nice indestructible Vortex for not much money that will be in "ready to race at the front" condition. Quite a lot have got asymmetrics on now and there a few good 'uns for sale at the moment of both kit and non-kite variety?

Unless it is specifically a contender and in wood that you want?

I do like the look of the Vortex, but I can only own wooden boats - its a strange condition I've got. Wooden decks and plastic hull I can bear...

Oh, and I'll never be front-of-fleet anyway!
