It's also in the weight the spice is heavier so the sheet loads are higher, just try a 5000
 
If it doesn't break it's too heavy; if it does it wasn't built right

SSailor - yes and no. As someone who has sailed both now, my crew reports that 800 sheet  loads are v comparable (and manageable). In fact she was surprised at sheet loads on the 800 in light winds which seemed higher-

and she would take exception to being called beefy, so watch out or there could be some  about

Yeh this is true though the spice kite has higher sheet loads so you need a beefier crew than an 800 - its all in the design, the spice isnt as tall and the kite is massive from the tack to the clew, thus transferring the main pull onto the sheets, the 800 kite has a larger top section and the distance from clew to tack is smaller makin loads lighter! - they may also be different length luffs so might be worth checking as to where it will come on the cherubs!!
Any one in need of quality carbon fibre work (tillers etc) at decent prices!
