yes that is very true even the topper website admit it! they have decided that it is a combination of a buzz and a boss, they decribe them as forgiving and i can tell you after going out in one of them when  it was wipping up quite a gail - they are not forgiving!

Not wishing to spread unfounded vicious rumours....

....but don't isos and buzzes and (presumably) spices and bosses have a bit of a hull problem?  Surface goes spongy due to internal collapse of the glass-fiber or sommat.

Anyone know? Cause they all look good boats and the Boss must give more knots per £ than anything else on the market.

Any composite boat is, over the long term, potentially vulnerable to degradation due the fibres and the resin "coming unglued". For various technical reasons polyester boats are more vulnerable to this than epoxy boats. And of course the higher the loads on the structure then the worse the problem will be. The quality of materials used and the quality of the basic engineering of the structure will have a big impact on how long an individual structure stays in good order.

Because ISOs and the like were probably among the earliest SMODs to have the higher loads of modern boats it follows that they'd be among the earliest to show serious signs of aging. I don't know that I'd want to say that they are necessarily worse than other polyester/glass boats, esepcially as so much depends on what the glass layup inside is like (non-woven cloth probably best, chopped strand mat certainly worst). Anyone who wants to predict which SMOD manufactuurers boats will clap out first is braver than I am: I don't know enough about how they are built.

It won't be Laser 4000s - that's for sure.
