Things are happening quickly, I'm pleased to observe!

Does anybody know how many members it would take to petition the RYA to de-mutualise it? It would be in the constitution.

Instead of resigning from the RYA, members could keep their memberships going and petition to de-mutualise, and have the RYA wound up. Let's go on the offensive.

Does anybody have the last balance sheet?

Soggy Doggie.

  • to work with relevant national and international organisations
  • to protect boaters’ rights to enjoy their activity in a responsible way, in safety and in harmony with other water users, both in UK waters and overseas.

Performance

To raise standards

  • of sailing, windsurfing, motorboating and powerboating to enhance competition and for the overall enjoyment of boating  throughout the UK
  • to achieve international competitive success at significant international championships and in world rankings.

Training

  • To establish the RYA as the primary source of boating information and training programmes
  • for all recreational boaters in the UK
  • to expand that role overseas.

I think the windsurfers may have done something similar,  setting up their own Association.

The response from RC mentioned a lack of non RYA Training,  is this true ?,  do the Class Associations and Cat Clubs organise their own training or just reliant on the RYA ?

search UKCRA on google and get UK catridge recycling association

then the UKCRA bit on Catamaran.co.uk  see that they were still active in 2006 and affiliated to RYA .

Not quite sure what they did ,recollect that they ran a uk long distance series ???

we are getting close to 500 people on the petition already in 2 days and this is before any exposure in the press/magazines

I hope the RYA are ready for this backlash as somebody has some explaining to do....

Certainly NOT. If you go onto each of the various cat forums you will see mentions of training days run by cat sailors within the class.

This years Tornado nationals we had Andrew Macpherson from Australia and Will Howden on the water training. Im sure that the F18s are trying to arrange training weekends. Olly H helps to organise shadow training events, these are just eveents that I know of and no doubt others will chip in... so once again the RYA are talking out of their ***** how dare they accuse cat sailors of not taking their sport seriously and basing their arguments on non facts!!!!!! ....ooooooooooops back on that PC course nect week!!!!!
