I'm not going to sl*g off the cherub class because they are a bloody good bunch with plenty of passion and love for their class, just wish allot of other classes shared their enthusiasum.  But it doesnt say allot when in that pic the boat has an alloy hog stepped rig with dacron sails does it also is that one twin wire ??

Secondly if you are asking for peoples opinions why are you shooting them down in flames when they give you one ???

I do't know what you intended it to be, but from here it read more like a rather silly crack than an opinion intended to be helpful...

Kipper is a 'dog' design which compared to the other boats of the era was quite hard to sail in certain conditions but extremely rapid in others... It is the predecesor to the 'Slug' (the current nationals winning design which spawned the daemon) and in a good breeze with all other factors equal I think its faster than the slug... different story in the light stuff however.

It is an alloy mast but only the jib is dacron... why did it do so well at the nationals?
It was well set up, very light for its age and sailed by an experianced pair who in their newer boat this year will be very unlucky to be outside the top 3.

Thanks jimc and no offence merlin boy but i'm not going to buy a penni 14 it's just wrong for me in everyway

As well as this i think it has a 600 mast that comes with it which if i'm correct was donated by the trims to the cherub class and is being borrowed by isis?

The 600 mast went up on my boat for the first time yesterday actualy!
It will need extending to fit a boat without a stump but I can probibly dig out some tube to help you do this if its heading in your direction after Ive built my new mast.

If you havnt already Id phone Tom whos number is on the bottom of the advert to have a chat and arange to go and have a look at her... Unfortunately somewhere like this isnt the place to get unbiassed answers!
