Just seen this press release from Rooster. £995 for a brand spanking new kiddies singlehander.

How could you possibly go wrong? I've only seen these pics, but it looks a great little boat for any junior starting out sailing. For £1195, you get a Tera Pro which looks about as lively as a Topper. Anyone know how much you're looking at for a new Topper? I can't find prices on their website. (Which could explain why they keep going bankrupt...)

I've only seen the brochure on the Tera, haven't seen one in the flesh yet. More of a competitor to an Oppi rather than a Topper I would have thought. (Length 2.87m, beam 1.23m, weight 33kg). Looks a bit more like a "proper" boat than an Oppi (sorry Oppi types), but against that you won't have a class assocation, fleet racing, or a circuit. We did consider it as a junior trainer at my club, but we bought Oppi clones instead (even cheaper) as we saw them as more of a transition to proper Oppi racing.

Hav you seen the groove in the bow? You could easily attach a mast head kite to the boat along with a jib  . You could turn it into a plastic cherub

Look far more like a little feva rather than a topper - I'd be frightened if I was behind either though.  Quality must be good for Steve C to offer it and the price is simply amazing.  Always suspected the margins on roto hulls were rather good ..... explains the rush by the 'usual suspects' to pile them high, but these people actually manufacture the hulls themselves so must surely have an edge.

Well maybe I'm just a sucker for cuteness (having small children does that to you) but I want one now, and considering the amount of water at Scaling Dam currently I'd be tempted to have a go myself.

Great name as well!

Daggerboard in the wrong place for that. Easily make it into a baby Musto Skiff though.

Jim i think your onto something there!  Give it a monster main and rake the mast back, raise the angle of the boom and simply add a trapeze.  And it does look like that dip going from mast to bow along the centreline is just screaming for a kite pole to be slotted in!!  Mwah Ha Ha, the all new TERA SKIFF!!

So we need an RS300 rig, some carbon fiber & resin, an RS200 kite, some trapeze wire and a tera hull.

I'm prepared to loan my old RS300 sail & boom so long as I can have a go in it! :D
