how about a bit of surfing? iv been really getting into my surfing in the last month and noticed my arms and back are much stronger than they used to be. the 300 doesnt have very high sheet loads though. in my mind the best kind of excercise is doing sport. its more interesting and so you work harder. going to the gym and keeping up the motivation is difficult. |

pressups and chinups whilst watching the news/whatever boring documentary parents have on tele in the evening works for me. And windsurfing seems to have done some good as well. |

Hi fitness fans. I am doing a bit of research on sailing fitness and have composed a simple anonymous survey that should take less than 5 minutes.
Thank you in anticipation for your participation, even if you don't do anything but sail to keep fit. Assuming I get a good sample of data I will publish the results to you all. Click here for survey ![]() Thanks, Alan |

Try using a big elastic band or cycle inner tube as a resistance. You can hook it around your foot or chair leg while watching the telly. Great for forearms, wrists etc. |

In response to survey ID 9489274 (I truely don't know who you are)
Yes I will publish a link to the results of the survey back on this thread of Y&Y. So far in less than 24 hours I have had 100 responses, a good starting point, and some interesting comments. Responses mainly from hiking dinghy sailors and virtually no keel boat sailors (not that surprised given this forums main participants).Keep the input comming, I will keep the survey open a couple of weeks and then analyse the results. To save you going back a page, the link to the survey is here. |
