thanks to everyone for replys.

we live in London during termtime, but in St Mawes, Cornwall during the holidays - we keep all the boats in St Mawes.

The cherub on ebay caught my eye, but seeing as one of our most important criteria was twin trapeze, and this boat was not set up for twin trapeze, it is probably best left for others. i also can not really handle the hassle of having  wooden boat due to living a long way away from where it would be kept.

29er XX was on my list, but due to price and lack of 2nd hand boats around, it isn't really an option. i'd love to try though!

i have just looked at the rs800 sites and couldn't find many for a price within our budget, but will continue to look out for bargins.

thanks everyone, more ideas welcome!

Putting twin strings on that Cherub is very easy and it would be a good class for you from what you've said.

Oh, and by the way

Despite what i think about topper now, has to be the SPICE!!

Aimed at lightweight crews, one design, cheap 2nd hand market. Had the 'pleasure' of having 1 for 2 years and i was actually sorry to see it go in the end. Have now however, moved into the 800.

The spice is quite fun despite what people say. Really quick to rig, easy to sail and very manageable in really crazy winds. It is not going to pace 29ers and 800s but the bow rides crazy high with the kite up and it feels faster than it is. It is a bit querky and a dog upwind. I sailed one a bit on and off and enjoyed it even though I sail a 14.

Umm... Spice would be fun sailing in Carrick Roads, and very cheap. Prob
a better bet of a boat than a Cherub if you are going to leave it down
there for summer sailing.
