thanks to everyone for replys.

we live in London during termtime, but in St Mawes, Cornwall during the holidays - we keep all the boats in St Mawes.

The cherub on ebay caught my eye, but seeing as one of our most important criteria was twin trapeze, and this boat was not set up for twin trapeze, it is probably best left for others. i also can not really handle the hassle of having  wooden boat due to living a long way away from where it would be kept.

29er XX was on my list, but due to price and lack of 2nd hand boats around, it isn't really an option. i'd love to try though!

i have just looked at the rs800 sites and couldn't find many for a price within our budget, but will continue to look out for bargins.

thanks everyone, more ideas welcome!

I didnt even know any cherubs had made it to canada! could you let us know where you found the boat? sure there would be quite a few people in the class interested to know.

A lightweight twin trapeze dinghy though? there really is only one choice. The only issue is that cherubs are very hard to find secondhand at the moment... Eggbert the Nasty is the only boat I know of for sale ad as tim says: its a pretty old boat and wooden but beutifully restored and a perfect entry to single wire cherubing while you look out for a newer boat.

You found a cherub for sale in canada?!

There is a very nice cherub for sale on ebay at the moment as Rupert very rightly says, but it would not really be suitable for twin wiring. It may be an old boat but I think you would be greatly suprised by the performance compared to your Laser 2... I went from a laser 2 to a cherub and definitely crapped myself on the first sail!

Ah, how much are you looking to spend and where are you based? I will try and sort you out a test sail.

Have a think about a B14.........you DON'T need traps to go fast. There are plenty great buys on the class website plus the worlds are in the UK next year.

If you can extend your budget a bit, the RS800 might be worth look, seen some older ones come up for £3500(ish) lately. Prices may drop further if the market direction swins more towards the 29erXX....
