Nope! All seems okay in the knee department, although it feels like the kneecap is bruised even though it isn't.

Although I have to confess to having been hiking off one leg during the second day of that meeting!

Not all chemicals are bad. Without chemicals such as hydrogen and
oxygen, for example, there would be no way to make water, a vital
ingredient in beer.

Well I've had a great day in the boat and it doesn't hurt much more than it did on Thursday...

More beer.

Just think, you could have two great days sailing and only have to pay for it by being unable to sail for the next thirty years...

Good thinking, Fizz, I'd do the same, ask Contender443... Alcohol numbs the pain anyway.

I'll give you an update tonight tickel!

On the one hand, my dearly beloved wife, the only common sense in my life, has advised me not to do any sailing until I've been checked out by a sports therapist & generally take it easy.

On the other hand, she's gone to see her mother for the weekend and it's blowing 25 knots out there. Thinking about it, knee supports are made of neoprene, and people have said to keep mobile. So going sailing and then having a few ales is the best thing I could possibly do?

Bloody Hell the poor sod only banged his knee. Please keep us updated on medical progress leading up to the funeral. As a 60 year old joiner who spends half his life on his knees I must be a freak, still able to walk upright. Must be sailing and alchahol that cures it!

Also had a strange swelling in me knee once.  GP took a sample of said fluid, found blood, panicked and sent me off pronto to a joint specialist ....

...who diagnosed housemaids knee (pre-patella-bursitis) from kneeling of the floor playing with the kids! Tight bandage and a cortesone injection did the trick

Kneeling on the floor of the boat can bring it back.

Don't panic, but do see a GP

NO!   RICE is great but NOT for this!

You need to use heat, and mobility as opposed to compression.  Swimming is probably the best form of exercise in your state.

I had an operation on my knee a couple of years ago for a wrecked cartilage(years of running and sailing !)They had me walking on it the next day even though it hurt!I would say you need to exercise it. I say this, but have no medical experience(engineer not doctor!) a visit to the physio is what I would suggest or give the physio department at your local Hospital a ring
49er 531 & 5000 5025 and a mirror(now gone to mirror heaven)!
