noooooo! Not an ice pack. Warm pack, and mobile. Mobile. Try and walk abit. A good G and T will steady the old nerves though. We wouldn't have managed to march to India and deliver cricket and Enterprises to the foreigners without a stiff GandT... And a decent moustach. It is late. Have a drink.Keep it warm and moving. Tomorrow have a couple of asprin (great for muscle pain), and get some exercise. Sorry - don't mean to dampen your sprits. |

Well that put a dampener on the evening. I suspect you're going to tell me that Gin & Tonic won't help either? Seemed reasonably mobile after 15 minutes with an ice pack on it but seized up again quickly enough. |

Not all chemicals are bad. Without chemicals such as hydrogen and
oxygen, for example, there would be no way to make water, a vital ingredient in beer. |

Just like you said..... when you turned your leg the boot griped abit more than it should and the knee got twisted. The lump is fluid - it is their because your knee is producing more of it to lubricate the joint incase you do it again. You are broken, this is very serious. The lubricant (forgot the name - been out of the country for a while) and cartilidge are in balance. People who mess up this balance never seem to get it back again. Very common for footballers, distance runners and laser sailors who are too tall. You must get profesional help. Go and see your GP and demand to be refered to a hospital based sports physio'. If your GP works for the NHS he will be all cynical about the physio but just ignore that and push. If the swelling goes and there is no pain and you can't be arsed anymore you must, must, must keep it mobile. In the old days experts and mothers used to say 'rest it'/'put your feet up'/etc. You must keep it mobile - that is swimming, cycling (none impact stuff) not road running, kick boxing or laser sailing. There...... doctor Bumble has operated. |

Any clues as to what I've done? Having been hooning the 300 around in a blustery 25 knot wind tonight, my left knee went 'twang' when I turned to lift the trolley up and my boot gripped rather more than it should. My knee is now quite sore and a little bit swollen. However the curious bit is that a small lump has appeared on the top of the kneecap, yet I didn't bang it on anything. Any clues? Am I broken? |
