Yes.... but the forum is free to use and is relatively clear from advertising (bar the Noble ad and the Raymarine ad at the top of the page). For example, I could use the forum and have never purchased a Y&Y magazine.

I agree that the website as a whole is part of their commercial enterprise but that wasn't the point I was trying to make. I can't see that the forum is their most profitable asset by any stretch of the imagination so it barely sits at the top of the 'things to do list' so it is a wonder that it runs this smoothly most of the time.

eerrrmm yes they do a stirling job, no doubt about it, but I think you'll find that there is no such thing as a free lunch.  Y&Y is, rightly, a commercial enterprise, in all its media forms.
