Jetski

BMW 3 series

A waste of space on the water

Drive in the middle lane

Turn without warning

Never use indicators

Both light, fast, well engineered and never break even when thrashed ...

As an ex CTR owner I'm allowed to say this.  Lovely car when new, now driven by ****s.

Bit of a sweeping and ignorant response ...

Sorry couldn't resist seeing if I would get a bite and holey moley its a whale

Seriously though the CTR has the best gear box I have ever driven, and that list includes Porsches, Mercs, BMWs (none of which were mine!).

I might be sailing it, but it's still sh**e!

Sorry, I posted an epic list of car/boat comparisons without reading Rick's post properly!  D'oh!!!

Fireball and a company VW Bora TDi. (But the 150bhp 6 speed version!!)  Reliable, understated, looks slightly dated but goes like b*ggery which people are not expecting!

My Cherub's alter ago was my old Alfa 156...great looking but known for dubious build quality/bits falling off.  Plan is to get an Elise this year...also dubious build quality/bits fall off, but small, light, uncomfortable and bloody quick!!

I own a Cherub and a Fiesta

Both of them get ragged into the ground until something breaks

The difference is I know how to fix the boat....

I own this Tasar thing now, slightly old fashioned high tech and fast. Wish I could pair it with one of my sadly demised old Citroen CX 's. Now we have ancient Vauxhall Diesel Estate, very worthy. Mind you for the last couple of seasons we did tour the land towing my sons Lightning 368 with a red...............Fiat Panda. Cool ,as you young people say , or what! Did anybody ever see us?

Yeh .. im more of an "ideas" person than an actual "doing" person!

And yes, The vareo kit doesnt take a lot of space at all .. but you can leave the sails in most boats anyway as the cover can keep them in it .. that way the only space your using in the car is for the foils ... unless you leave them in the hull as well :D

Iain C list was right on the money, liked it very much, especially the Wayfarer bit. Too true, brought by people who think they need the space, then realise they can't get it's fat a*** down the slipway/driveway.

As for the oppie, must be a Ford Escort (for you who remember Escorts), just jump in and go, bump into anything and everything, indistructable and if bits fall off, just bung in and old broom handle/spare spar lots of duct tape or anything to hand and it just keeps going............

I have a diesel estate, so I'm not about to break any new barriers.

Driving advice from someone who hasn't started to learn to drive yet
Also have a feeling the kit for a Vareo will take up a bit less space than 5k or 49er kit! My laser kit would easily fit in the boot of my 306, my 5000 stuff easily filled the car... twice over

Yeah but you don't tow the boat everytime you sail, and leaving kit on the boat is not the best of ideas. Thank god we have a box trailer to chuck everything in or we'd be dragging big sails and stuff on to the ferry everytime we go sailing, and its a very, very small ferry we get.
