Bonezzi Contender-Morgan Plus Eight... scary, powerful, and the fact it's wood does not matter one iota

Wayfarer-Hummer H2-fat...slow, and heavy

Cherub-Caterham Seven...raced by enthusiasts every weekend, loads of carbon, fast but tiring, wander round the paddock/boatpark and no two look the same

RS600-Subaru Impreza...for fast, lairy, and oh look they're cheap now I think I'll get one...

18' skiff-TVR Tuscan...takes off like nothing on earth but be careful, it will either break or you will crash it

Laser-Saxo VTR...everyone's bloody got one.  Just add bass box/neons/spoilers/gorilla tiller/XD kit as approproiate and kid yourself you will now go faster than your mate

Solo-VW Golf GTi Mk1...similar to the Saxo above but older and far better

Flying Fifteen-Rover 75...'nuff sed...

Int Moth-Lotus Elise...both share the design philosophy "if you want to go fast add lightness"

Foiling Moth-Lotus Exige S...both loony speed versions of the original

Swift Solo-Westfield SEi...built from kits by people in sheds

Fireball-Land Rover 90...very old design, still looks the nuts as it's been updated...never breaks and will not stop no matter what conditions you throw at it

Merlin Rocket-Aston Martin DB9...very, very cool and owned by rich people

RS400-MGB Roadster...looks good but a lot of hard work for your fun and not actually that quick

Hobie cat-Vauxhall Monaro...big scary aussie that goes very quick but will eiother be flying a hull or going sideways

RS200-Toyota MR2 Mk2...quite easy to get out of shape in the corners

Wanderer-VW Bus...great for camping

Xenon/Omega/RS500-Avensis/Mondeo/Vectra...all look the bloody same to me

Oppie-Nova...we all had one...

Cheers!!

sounds like a good plan- afterall the crew weight seems inconsequential compared to boat handling and tactical skill.

Doesn't the class survey show a very broad weight range?

Data is here .... http://www.mustoskiff.com/facts-and-figures.htm

At the recent MPS open at Rutland the range in the top 4 was 64 - 88kgs.

I unfortunately don't have a lot of choice in the matter. I drive a clio 1.9 Diesel as that is all i can afford. It was donated by my mates dad when i pranged my old car and I can't afford to buy anything else! She's a beauty though, does at least 10p a mile however she is driven, has the torque to tow a stacker, has looks most so called sports cars would kill for and she has rust..... perfect.

oh.... and i have a cherub (can't win 'em all eh?!)

Of course you have a choice ... everything in life is a choice (apart from health; and we can make significant choices over that) ... your current position is a function of the choices you have made to date; there are others who have made different choices and have perhaps different options.

There is no right & wrong but for sure there is plenty of choice in life ...

Dont have a car at the moment. But my Dad in a moment of extreme stupidity has not only agreed to lend me his car for a month but also put my (student) crew on his insurense so we can do laps of the country with a boat.

Sonetimes I really love my Dad

Me ...

Musto Skiff & Honda Civic Type R.

Both light, fast, well engineered and never break even when thrashed ...

Rick

As an ex CTR owner I'm allowed to say this.  Lovely car when new, now driven by ****s.

Bit of a sweeping and ignorant response ...

****s = girls...

sorry rick it appears you have a girls car... and a girls boat according to last week's thread as apparently there's not enough canvas on an MPS... oh well back  to 'ard boy school for you for a refresher course in manly pursuits... sorry mate.

Uh, oh, there does seem to be a link, though so far we have only heard from fast boat sailors...Firefly, British Moth and Citroen ZX desiel estate....Hmmm there does seem to be a pattern here!

Or should I have lied to look cool?!

RS600 and old shape Subaru Impreza -

Quick but not that refined, a bit rough round the edges, makes lots of noise and lots of fuss about it but loads of fun!
