talking about falling out of boats i did that last week in the 4k went out on trapeze after hoisted kite and *splash* the wire had broke.  and i was surfing behind the boat with the sheet,  also this week at grafham i failed to hook onto the trapeze and the boat sailed away but great man over board skills by helm . (only good thing he did )  only kidding

i have always clung onto the mainsheet when the toestraps break in the feva because the tiller extension bends and never bends back. its not just to anoy my crew honest .

BTW, he also wore a bloody deerstalker hat in the winter series. I swear it was just to embarrass me...

My old 12 helm got us to the first mark in the warming pan 2nd, just behind the then nat champ. He was so excited he fell out of the boat backwards, but held onto the mainsheet to make sure I went in too! Git.

ok this isnt deliberate but its a great way to anoy the crew: have your toestrap break on the last beat. providing its warm i think it would be okay. i have done this once infront of the clubhouse and twice in the last 2 weeks. it was cold. time for new toestraps, sewing them up just isnt the same .

getting on the fordeck of a merlin in waves and breeze is pretty chuffing wobbly.  had to do it a hamble warming pan, luckily we were reaching into the estuary so the wave could have been worse.  kept it upright tho, thank gawd, it was plenty cold without a swim!

my helm has squirted juice at me on countless occations, which is abit cheeky when he expects me to still be able to fly the kite with juice in my eye!

the feva is a great boat to send the crew to sort out the kite in because it is incredibly unstable with the bows down. there is nothing better than watching your crew swimming to the kite halyard while your nice and dry on the dagger board

One way of getting your helm back on a 14 is to accidently sheet out on the main when they are about to hook on ha ha ha just remember to swing in before they fall in backwards let go of the trap handle and go swimming!
Any one in need of quality carbon fibre work (tillers etc) at decent prices!

Lesson to be learnt, never let a helm near the pointy end of a boat! Just thought of duck taping the kite sheets to the front of the boat!
