Cheers; I believe these must have change at the last November meeting.

I'm sure they'd love to... but every UK origin SMOD that has achieved recognised status has pretty much immediately crashed and burned so it might be worth waiting a bit!

What boats have Jim? I can't think of may UK origin SMOD minus the Topper. I dont think the any of the 'high perfomance' topper boats did nor any of the laser 0000's.

Re. comments made by Rick and Rob.e, was there not a similar debate held on the forum about SMODs skipping sail numbers, only for Rikki (I belive) from RS to come along and categorically state that RS did not skip numbers. This seemingly contradicts Rob.e's conversation with LDC!!

Well, the 300 has had a max of about 6 boats a year recently, the suddenly the numbers jump by about 20! I loved my 300, so I'm not trying to diss them, but I was honestly told that on the phone by an RS employee, and the evidence is pretty clear. If anyone knows of a 300 numered between about 481 and 500 I'd be interested to hear.

PS If I'm wrong, please refer to sig below!!!

I should remember, I sailed against him! He was probably too far ahead to see...

There still seems to be a jump tho. Damn, used to be able to get at a list on the RS site, but I'm not a member anymore and it won't let me in.

a bit of googling suggests 490 might be the only one between 480 and 500
