The RYA don't pay any attention to manufacturer supplied PYs but only use data from the clubs. However if the clubs are just using the manufacturer one then...

I dont think there are that many more 700's the biggest thing is that alot of them wont sail in handicap racing that much and therefore the PY wont have moved much from the one that the manufacturer suggested.

Would of thought the 700s handicap is lower because there are more of them so the RYA get more of them on their club returns each year meaning they have a lower PY compared to the MPS where the numbers are pretty small in comparison so intern has a higher handicap because of returns etc.

iv heard that the mps is faster on the water from the tide ride

so i think tha handy cap is a bit unfaid in that resect but they still do well at my club

Heh, I'm trying, just got to finish my degree first!

Anyway the 700 looks a great bit of kit, my only concern (besides my inability to afford one atm) about it is how well it performs to it's PY. 857 is a pretty low number, especially considering the MPS is 875 and some recon it to be the faster of the two?
