I've never seen one in the flesh, but I'd have thought with the sail up and 12 knots apparent wind (from the tow), you could get quite far - even on a windless day.  Alternatively, whoever gets the furthest wins!

Imagine the scene.  You got yourself a brand new foiling moth, you've entered the nationals.  It's a sunny August day and there's absolutley no wind...

A new type of competition is needed.  A drag race

Two moths, each towed by a rescue boat until they're going fast enough to foil.  Release the cord as you pass the start line and glide on foils to a finish mark 400 yards away.  Winner progresses to the next round.  Like the AC, only better.
