Just another boat buying problem!

   Go for an RS400 or 200 depnding on their weight, if they don't like it they can sell it again easily, and as they become proficient they've got good class racing available. Both stable vice free boats.

	Yeah!! The 420 sounds good! They do have a fair bit of money tho - would it be worth looking at something in the Laser or RS series, or maybe one of those new Topper boats??!

	Not trying to sound like I'm plugging them too much, but 420s can be sailed without the trapeze in silly amounts of wind! This year I was sailing with a combined weight of about 20 stone in anything, and capsizes were due to mistakes rather than too little weight.The trapeze is there if it's wanted though and it has the kite..

	Ellie, unless the are like uber rich and can afford something for about 1k, the 420 sounds good cos i saw it on the board at chew and it says 'all in working order with all equipment but had to sell as unsuitable for a family' so they could use the wire on the 420, or just hike like they do in team racing, it has a kite aswell. and they can't go to wrong, its only 150! 	Ok - errrrr, they'd want to hike, they're not exerienced enough for a trapeze, it'd just scare them!!! I have no idea what weight they are, but they'd prob want something with a spinny (assym or sym!)!!! Does that help??!

	What about a 505, Merlin Rocket, Nat 12, Laser 2, GP 14? It all really depends where they sail which depends the fleets that are raced at their club

	What you have described so far could include most of the doublehanders in the country, depending on your perspective... What weight range are they in? 2-sail, symetric, assymetric? Hiking, Single wire, Twin string?

	What's wrong with a Cherub? 420 might be worth a try, it's a symmetric, I've taught in them (reasonably stable) and loved sailing them. They'll keep going in sily amounts of wind, need a bit to shift them though. I've had one out in gusting 7s and 8s and it was great! Frank reckons he's seen one for £150, I'd try and steal it but I'm going too soon Not sure about fleets, I've only team raced them..

	My mate is looking to buy a boat for him and his crew. They are both looking for something that's relatively stable, is easy and enjoyable to sail, is relatively cheap and has good racing fleets!! Any suggestions (and please, to all my fellow cherub sailors....don't suggest a cherub)!!!!
