Anyone got any good advice to pass on regarding their construction and/or use?
I am about to install them (I think) and am a little anxious.... |

What is a tacking stick? Is it a tiller extension?

Nah, they're rubber tubing about 80cms long placed above the trap hook in place of the handle. Søren Andreasen makes wonders out of them and tacks quicker than the eye can see (yeah, just...). Other less experienced sailors find them difficult to adapt to. Contender443 had a set on one of his boats but took them off after a few swims. |

Too low - I was amazed at some of the techniques used by our continental friends at my one championship in the class. One German guy rolled on his back under the boom every time. Never seen anything like it before or since. Lovely boat upwind in a blow but..... Ian Edited by Ian29937 |

Or possibly the ready rings made by ian renilson? They are well suited to mustos.

I love the dongles on the 12!! Work so well - wish I had them on the 49er, would have been so much easier than waiting for the lazy crew to hook you on!!! ;-) Gona put them on my new 12 too!! |
