I currently sail toppers on a small lake inm birmingham. unfortunatly i am small for my age, but all my friends have moved into lasers. i am nearly 15, but weigh just under 50 kilos. I have sailed rs600s and 200s, and enjoy sailing them but i am way to small for them.  i'm not too bothered what i move into, as long as it is faster than a topper. Any suggestions please?

maybe a laser 4.7 they have a very fast growing fleet and can be good fun although i would say that the speed would not be that much different. You could go for a good old moth which would give you hours of fun and swimming but im sure there are many more options. Just out of interest how did u find the rs600 as i weigh 67kg and might be getting one soon. Cheers

I capsized alot, even though it was just about a force 2, but it was loads of fun.

Don't bother with laser 4.7 coz the sail is smaller than that of a topper... u considered doublehanders? They're gd fun and lots more sociable! I got sam e prob as u weight wize, but i sail firefly, n mirror... fireflies are v fast n fun.

how much do you and your dad weigh?

when i was around 50kg, i used to sail an rs200 with my helm who was 65kg...we managed ok upto a F6!

I could suggest the Byte?....or the 4.7, it may have a smaller sail than the topper, but it's still quicker!

I would suggest the Cherub as a double hander, or maybe the rs feva?

Kasey.

Bit of a difference between a cherub and rs feva methinks... i kept up with a feva in a topper...

The topper worlds arent definately im lake garda next year, they are likely to be in NZ but nothing is definate yet. There wasnt topper worlds this year because they had the europeans in blessington in ireland (next week) which follow on from the nationals. You never have euro's and worlds on in the same year.
