o.k i`ll take a look, but i think i`m gonna go down to the show at the weekend to get a better idea of things. How much difference does the crew weight make?as i`m not looking at entering any races,or is it a safety thing

If your looking at a Scorpions, then it might be worth looking at Larks as they have similar crew weights but second hand examples seem to be cheeper.

Or about half the dinghy stories on the home page here, or latest edition of the magazine- especially the supplement.

where is the dinghy show? that sounds like a good idea as most of my sailing has been at sea on yachts

yea, i`m sure southhampton has a big sailing scene and the fact its been on there a while did cross my mind! and it did seem odd he was prepared to drag it half way up the country and was flexible about when he could do it! i`l think i`ll take your advice and save a few more pennies, and thinking about it maybe a smaller boat `14 or so, a scorpion or a international i dont mind a bit of work but as i said i want to be on the water this year which can be costly itself, well it is at rutland near me

or if you've got around £6500 to spend, buy Stan's boat
![]() Depending on how soon you were looking to buy an Osprey I'd advise a trip to the dinghy show next weekend to have a chat to the people on the Osprey class stand and us on the Hartley Laminates stand. You'll learn lots and might get some fresh ideas. Come and say hello. |

I have just had a look at the ad Jonster, and in my opinion i think it would be better spending a little more and buying the boat in my previous post (one at Hayling) This boat will almot certainly in the long run cost you less to mantain, and probably needs less bits and bobs to get sailing! Also fromthe brief pictures in the ad i think that the blue boat is missing a few fittings and these can be exspensive one sing le cleat usually costs £15 and you probaly need 6 as well as any missing blocks! If it is such a bargin, why has it been forsale for so long?
