Sounds mad, I wish I had gone but I couldn't have sailed today anyway. Illness has struck me down with a temperature and a thumping headache but it's slowly getting better so I should be good to go for club racing tomorrow. Hope everyone feels better for the dinner but I get the impression that most people will be hitting the hay early tonight.

forecast wind: 10 knots

Actual wind: 25 knots +

Whoops, told you rutland had dodgey forcasts..

By the way we were the 29er that missed the first start, got in the way for the first race in between the start boats then went in! My helm had the first stages of hyperthermia

2 girls fitted because they were so cold and about 20 came in with mild hyperthermia, very few fast boats stayed out!

the 18 foot skidff went out with its huge rig, wind picked up to 20+ and I guess you can imagine!

Just had a call from my helm, he got out to unlock the club gates (picking up the boat), and his car doors locked, with the engine still running. This isn't a good development.

edit: sorted. Phew. Game on.

I hope the weather earlier was not a sign of things to come!

I was outside taking the mast down and strapping the boat to the trailer and it started effing snowing didnt it. And now the boat is the only thing in the entire street that is covered in snow! Typically it has melted on everything else

Got a ticket for the dinner last minute with the Oakham lot so I will probably be on the table that looks most public school!

The band starts up and i guess most of you'll get squished at the back... we use up a lot of space

Yup, Once the band starts up, Keep clear of the area infront of the stage!

Anyone who went to the town last year with the dinner will remember us .. basically 2 tables worth of people taking up 90% of the dancefloor!!
