Phone the secretary, find out when something is happening and go down and meet people. Introduce yourself... If they're still unfriendly then look for another club, but mostly everyone's just too busy or doesn't realise many new members feel intimidated (left out) by it all. On class associations I have to say Cherubs are the 2nd most friendly & welcoming, I remember being invited to their Chilli night on the Saturday of the Dinghyshow a few years back and I don't even sail one. |

I don't think GRF has ever even seen a Cherub, he just likes to take the
p1ss and it seemed the dominant group on this board and lets face it, the Logo on the sail? Gee Aich Ee Why immediately sprang to mind which automatically creates a target rich environment for the serial p1ss taker. Then getting him banned by running to teacher.. ![]() Anyway as you can probably spot now, there was nothing personal in it and his p1ss taking is not class specific, he hates everybody, as only the true curmudgeon can.. Which is why he's a fair target for ridicule in return ![]() However in all seriousness, he doesn't think a boat only 12 ft long would work on his home water when quite often the waves can be as big as that, but not nice long flowing waves, they're short steep 'orrible boat breakers and back on topic is why the club is so important, in all seriousness we have to pitch in to help each other launch and recover. So 14 ft probably has to be the minimum, but the thought of a DIY anything goes class is definitely appealing.. |

I think GRF just gets tired as many people do of this forum seeming to be the Cherub class association forum, and you all seem to bite easily so its just like catching a fish in a bucket!

An open invitation - get in there GRF! Or maybe we should try to keep this somewhere nearthe original subject? My club provides stickers newsletters help with a space, a duty or two. But if the new members are 'slow in coming forward' they may find it hard to get Strikes me that a proper intro is a very good idea. |

Seems to me that G.R.F should sail a Cherub before he
comments on them and then we'll see what he has to say about them. He might
realise how bloody tired we are of his Cherub bashing ways (despite my recent
laser bashing, but I don't hold too many grudges). |
