i think its good that boats liek the 470 are still olympic classes, there may be boats like musto skiff etc, but I still think that the proper 'dinghys' aught to have a place to aim for. rather than learning in a dinghy and not being able to transfer these skills to anything other than tha boats circuit.

If all olympic classes became extreeme high performance it will end up changing all the classs so that non performance classes would end up dying out.

yer the 470 is a good boat i was useing it as an example of an old boat but it has devloped and is al wase geting better the laser has not changed much sine it was desind all they have don is put diffrnt rope sistens on it

the 470 is a good boat that is alwase changing to keep up with the new boats and it was and still is a very nice boat to  sail where as the laser has not changd  much and i dont think that it was that good in thefirst plase but it is now old and time to let a new moden boat take its plase

yer but the laser is like a part of sailing history cos it has been around for so long and even if it is crap people will keep buying it because it is an olypic class and has 3 differtent types of rig!
