Hey guys

I'm in a spot of trouble, I have found an rs 800 mast that I am going to modify for the boat, its in south east London, (bexley heath) and I need to pick it up before sunday because the owner is going off to the 49er worlds.

Can anyone help?
Does anyone have any helpful suggestions on how I can transport it?

Thanks

Saw one sailing in France last year at the France Open Skiff event. Very nice looking little boat. Was behaving pretty nicely singlehanded in very light wind, but kind of stuck in the water with a second person on board. But the wind was really light though, and the crew not very experienced.

Appart from that, I like the idea of a complete kit for the boat building enthousiast who doesn't know/want to do it all from scratch! Hope to see more of these! Smile

Yes...I agree that the timber spars put me off the boat at first when i saw it....but with carbon or at least ali spars...the boat should look great.  I'm not sure about its sailing characteristics but there is a video of it sailing on their website which gives an indication on how it performs.  It looks like it will take some practice to sail unless you have some experience on trapeze/spinny boats.  I've heard the 600 can be a handful, so this may be evenmoreso with the kite option unless it has a more stable hull.  Personally I love the look of it and was tempted myself to start it as a project had I more time and know how.

Often, building a boat can be the more expensive and painful route to getting on the water (except for those few who consider a door hinge to be a perfectly acceptable substitute for a pintle and gudgeon Wink).  Good to see the others reaching out to help with rigs.  Be sure to post the details of your first flight!

Probably cos people have seen the rig. Wooden spars, hideous turbo sail and for the most of them you have to glue together yourself. Shame really cos the hull looks really quite nice, shame about the rest. Its sort of having Heidi Klums body with Nora Batty's head on it....google nora batty kurio and you will see what I mean
Everything I say is my opinion, honest
