I've owned a couple of Europe's and sailed Bytes in both
old and new rig format and personally... I find the Europe
a much nicer boat in every respect, but I agree getting
hold of a good one is hard and can be pricey in comparison.

Having sailed most small singlehanders, the thing they all have in common is that they are fun! I expect you'll enjoy whichever one you choose.

the other to think about is, do you think you will be  puting on weight in the near future?

if you think you will, you would be better off with a streaker or a lightning.

If you click on the classes button on the Y&Y tool bar, you can find out all you want about all the boats mentioned.
