they may not have problems, but they still take longer to get yourself sorted. Ok, in boats other than the 49er the crew can take an extra second to clip on, but when you have the mainsheet you haven't got much time to get ready.

Most 49er helms don't use them, but one or two do (the danish for example). Sure you save a bit of time, but most have kust learnt to hook themselves on with their tiller hand.

I love the dongles on the 12!! Work so well - wish I had them on the 49er, would have been so much easier than waiting for the lazy crew to hook you on!!! ;-) Gona put them on my new 12 too!! |

Too low - I was amazed at some of the techniques used by our continental friends at my one championship in the class. One German guy rolled on his back under the boom every time. Never seen anything like it before or since. Lovely boat upwind in a blow but..... Ian Edited by Ian29937 |
