[QUOTE=Rupert]The Enterprise did well enough as the Endevour boat, and that wasn't an out and out racer either [QUOTE]

You're joking right? no-one sails Enterprises 'for fun' do they? I thought the only reason the class survives at all is because they're fun to race and theres lots of them.

There is 1 (maybe 2) at Scaling Dam and they do indeed look a bit RS400y and the sail plan looks a little 12y (if you squint) because it's so high aspect. It seems to go fairly well but there is definitely a washing-up bowlness about the material it's moulded in.

Scaling seems to embrace change (despite being a little isolated) and there are several 'plastic' boats to be seen.

The Enterprise did well enough as the Endevour boat, and that wasn't an out and out racer either. The point is to have a boat which people from classes as far apart as Toppers and 49ers can jump into with minimal practice and race on as even a playing field as possible. An out and out racer (such as the 400) isn't going to achieve this. So yes, good choice for the Endevour, without the sarcasm!

You are assuming of course, that the guy who ran the review is an authority on out and out racers not just an amazing judge of scale...

I see where they got the national 12 comment from, the main is quite a similar shapeI guess, but it would dwarf a 12 completely...

Umm, this morning I'd decided a Vision was the boat for me. After reading
about the Xenon again, I feel I'm swaying towards one of those once more...

Not worth the money. I've had a look and the report is poor and
inconclusive. The boat was only tested in very light winds, which can't give a
full picture of its capabilities.
