I think it has...there are plenty people out there sailing classes that don't have the clout of the big fleets and will probably do really well from such an organisation. I never attended a FastSail event, but they were very succesful with big numbers and created a lot of interest for the symmetric boats. Good work and good luck guys.

TASA is a non-profit organisiation with the aim of getting like minded boats out of the compounds and back together out on the water... not under the TASA banner as it were (though we would like our own training days and some racing) the club and the site are more to bring ppl together to get them to events (which some people don't even know are out there!).. and bring the publicity up for events as a one stop site for what events they can attend. (we are NOT trying to replace the Yachts and Yachting forum! not that i think it could ever be done!) our first issue though is to drum up interest and class association backing as they can help publicise.. hit south coast clubs (and elsewhere) and unis again to drum up more boats and helm and crew... publicise avaliable events to try and get ppl going. although it might seem like we are aiming it at 'dead' classes and non competetive boats, we welcome any boat as long as it has a trapeze and aysmmetric I'll stop boring you and shamelessly plugging us now though if you do want more info you know where i am! --Emma

Basically it's a bit like Fastsail then...

Not all chemicals are bad. Without chemicals such as hydrogen and
oxygen, for example, there would be no way to make water, a vital ingredient in beer. |

Why don't you include single-handers? A Contender, a 600, have a trapeze and RS 700 and others have an asymmetric kite as well!

What about B14s and 59ers also, would much prefer to be in a handicap event racing against B14s opposed to buzz's and 3000s etc. Not having a dig at either of the classes but it reckon it would be better racing across the water. The Scottish Skiff Series have had the same discusion and boat eligiability is more based upon boat performance than whether a class has a kite and trap, hence the reason moths, 600s etc race within the series. |

casue they are still very modern classes and it is aimed at other classes. and the 600 and contender has not got a kite. i am going to the events when they are arranged should be a good laugh |

Agreed 49erHSC, the criteria for entry does seem a little arbitrary (ie
the B14 is quicker than the majority of the boats on the list, but it
is specifically excluded due to not having a trapeze).
