Fremantle Open Match Race 2000

(Fremantle, WA) - Three America's Cup syndicates will be represented at an International match
racing event organised by Fremantle Sailing Club in December 2000.

Oracle Racing (USA) represented by Chris Dickson.
One World Challenge (USA) represented by Kelvin Harrap
Prada Challenge (ITA) represented by Gavin Brady

The club is also expecting the confirmation of three other America's Cup syndicates who are also
looking seriously at being represented in this event.

Fremantle Sailing Club will be using their fleet of J24's and other interested participants in the
regatta include Chris Main (JPN), Xavier Destremau (FRA), Roberto Ferrarese (ITA), Marten
Hedlung (SWE), Philippe Presti (FRA), Luca Antonini (ITA) as well as local heroes Simon
Sutherland (AUS), Gordon Lucas (AUS) and Sebastien Destremau (AUS).

The regatta is being held from Friday 15 to Sunday 17 December 2000 at South Beach. The
participants will encounter similar conditions off Fremantle as in Auckland where the next
America's Cup will be held in 2002 / 2003.

"It is great for the community of Fremantle to have the interest of professional match racers" said
Geoff Bishop - Rear Commodore of Fremantle Sailing Club. "This is the first of a series of
International Match Racing events that will attract high level yachtsman to sail in our waters" he
concluded.
