Lightning 368 Southerns at Cookham Reach Sailing Club
There were four pairs of boats, sailed by fathers and sons, included in the 21 entries for this year’s Lightning Open Event at Cookham Reach in Berkshire.

Ballast
A very heavy material, such as lead or iron, placed in the keel of the boat, or in the bilge. It is used to provide stability. In sailing dinghies the crew uses their weight as ballast.
