Blithfield Barrel Series at Blithfield Sailing Club - Week 1

The 2005/2006 Blithfield Barrel Handicap Series has started at Blithfield SC, in rural Staffordshire. The opening weekend threatened to be a drifter, with icy temperatures and little movement, however, the wind filled in just before the first race to enable some close and tactical racing. A wide variety of boats competed in the opening round, after two races, Blithfields Steve and Gill Leney are the top of the leaderboard in their Merlin Rocket. Last years champions, Matt Biggs and Dave Crockett, also in a Merlin are in second place overall.

New entrants can still qualify – hopefully there will be some more wind too – the remaining aces are at 12:00 & 14:00 on 18th Dec, 15th Jan, 12th Feb.
