by Cherub Class 8 Sep 2005 08:15 BST 10-11 September 2005

In Trafalgar year the UK Cherubs show there's no hard feelings.

Breizh Skiff round 5 makes its way to Carnac on the 10th and 11th of September. With the likelihood of 30 skiffs making there way to this dinghy sailing Mecca. Including several UK Cherubs who are making the trip over from the UK to meet up with the new emerging French fleet.

'There has been a big push to develop skiff sailing in France in recent years and the UK Cherubs are keen to help support this development' said Will Lee UK Cherub president.

The UK Cherubs are incorporating there first Euro Cup regatta at at this years Breizh skiff event. 'The first of many, we hope' said Daryl wilkinson UK Cherub publicity Officer, ' The French fleet is building very quickly at the moment with several UK Cherubs having emigrated in recent weeks' he went on to say. 'In fact one of the boats we are sailing over there this weekend may not come back!'

The event will include training on the Friday and an evening meal so everyone can get to know each other and talk over the finer techniques of skiff sailing. Then races on Saturday followed by a beach barbecue and the final round of races on Sunday. With just enough time to catch the ferry back!

The UK Cherubs are looking to make this a regular Euro Cup event and with the current growth that the class is seeing in the UK and abroad it looks like a fixture that's here to stay. So good luck to the UK Cherubbers, help spread the word of Cherub goodness to the European skiff world!
