RS100 Eurotour goes live

by Paul Childs, RS Sailing 14 Apr 2011 07:00 BST

This week marks the launch of the RS100 Eurotour with the entry for the 2011 RS100 Eurotour going live.

The Eurotour will take RS100 sailors from many nations including, but not exclusively, Great Britain, France, Denmark, Spain, Italy, Germany and the Czech Republic to three spectacular events through the 2011 season. There are even South African and Australian competitors making the trip.

Events will be held in:

  • Bruinisse – Holland, 14/15th May, Bruinisse Yacht Haven
  • Lake Como – Italy, 2-4th July, Gravedona, Lake Como
  • L’Estartit – Spain, 30 September - 2nd October, Club Nàutic L’Estartit

It is currently looking like the first event in Bruinisse will attract around 20 boats from five different nations. The RS100’s will be guaranteed some excellent racing and hospitality by the Dutch with Richard and Marieke at the fantastic Aquavitesse venue. Their legendary hospitality has been refined by hosting various international RS events, notably the very successful RS500 World Championships in 2010. This event was widely regarded as one of the best events the sailors have attended, which can be reflected with the RS500 class joining the RS100’s for this first leg of the tour.

For all the information on the RS100 Eurotour please visit the International RS Association website.

The RS100 is preparing to build on the strength of its launch last year, this European Tour will surely capture the attention of anyone who is not familiar with the 2011 Sailing World Boat of the Year and enhance its reputation for having huge amounts of fun and exceptionally close racing. RS Sailing will again be supporting the International Class Association by providing six charter boats for all three events. You can charter a boat for €250 meaning that anyone can share the glamour, regardless of if they are an RS100 owner or not.
