Laser 4000 Europeans at Fraglia Vela Riva,Lake Garda - Day 1

by Fraglia Vela Riva 15 Jul 2010 08:04 BST 14-17 July 2010

Fraglia Vela Riva is racing again only three days since the conclusion of the 60th Intervela with the start of the Laser 4000 class European Championships, with mostly British crews participating.

There were once again ideal conditions in Trentino Garda for the first day of racing where 3 legs were run with 11 scheduled by the 17th of July. The British where the best of the day, not only for their high participation, along with French and Italian, but also in their results.

It’s a very tight race for the lead with only two points separating 3 crews. In the lead with 9 points (3-5-1) Hodgson-Ogg, followed by, with 10 points, Boyde-Linnell (1-2-7).

With eleven points is the crew of Warburton-Claapham (2-4-5). The others are not far behind with Reaney-Wattkins (8th place) who won the second leg and Richard-Williamson (5th) who came 2nd in the 3rd race. A strong group where practically everyone is within reach of the podium.

Tomorrow the start is schedule for 13.00, the time when the southerly winds pick up.
