For every 10 or more members who pre-booked tickets for the show and named their club there was an opportunity for the club to pick up one of the spectacular prizes that were kindly donated by show sponsors Volvo plus Suzuki, Rigiflex, Mersea Trailers and Rooster Sailing.

Shustoke Sailing Club won the 10 or more club members category and picked up 10 Rooster Sailing buoyancy aids for the club, whilst in the 20 or more club members’ category it was Midland Sailing Club who won a set of five Volvo Racing marks.

The top prize of a Safety Boat Package, comprising: Suzuki 9.9hp Outboard engine, Rigiflex New Matic 360 motor boat and trailer from Mersea Trailers went to Bewl Valley Sailing Club in Kent who brought over 30 club members to the show.

Club manager Vince Nunn said: “This is absolutely excellent and we are totally delighted to have won, it marks a real turning point for the club. We’ve been having a really great show with lots of visitors to the stand and this is the icing on the cake.

“We advertised the show in the club magazine and also added hyperlink on our website to the show website to encourage club members to come along and it has clearly paid off.

“We’ll be using the boat for our Saturday morning small boat fleet training and Mariners sessions, which is our disabled sailing fleet, as well as using it for safety boat activities at the club too.”

Members of Bewl Sailing Club were joined by Terry Quinn from Rigiflex, Steven Foy from Suzuki and Mike Corduff from Mersea Trailers.
