9:13 - Update

I think that's it for the day. What a day for Great Britain; a silver medal for Nick Rogers & Joe Glanfield in the 470 men, at least a silver medal assured for Paul Goodison in the Lasers, Iain Percy & Andrew Simpson move into second place after race 7 in the Stars, Nick Dempsey is second in the RS:X men, Bryony Shaw just 2 points off 3rd in the RS:X women. Happy days!

9:06 - Laser - Race 9 Finish

Paul Goodison finishes 6th - he's now on 45 points. Swedish sailor Rasmus Myrgren finished 2nd - he's now on 63 points. Paul Goodison is now assured of silver at least. If the Swede finishes first in the medal race and Paul Goodison finishes last then the Swede can win gold but I think that's the only result which would stop Paul winning gold!

9:00 - Laser - Race 9 Update

They're coming into the finish, the leaders just have the short reach from the leeward mark to the finish line. New Zealand sailor Andrew Murdoch is leading, Swedish sailor Rasmus Myrgren is second.

8:59 - Star - Race 7 Finish

Iain Percy & Andrew Simpson have won the race!

8:56 - Tornado - Race 7 Finish

The Spanish team of Fernando Echavarri & Anton Paz Blanco have won the race. This puts them tied on points with the Australian team of Darren Bundock & Glenn Ashby at the top of the leaderboard. Leigh McMillan & Will Howden have finished the race in 7th.

8:52 - Laser - Race 9 Update

Going into the final run Paul Goodison is 7th. That would put him on 46 points with his closest rival Rasmus Myrgren on 63 points... We need you to climb one more place Paul!

8:49 - Tornado - Race 7 Update

Leigh McMillan & Will Howden have rounded the final windward mark in 6th.

8:46 - Laser - Race 9 Update

It's being a struggle getting information on this race. Paul Goodison has rounded the second windward mark in 11th. Swedish sailor Rasmus Myrgren rounded 2nd.

8:45 - Tornado - Race 7 Update

The Spanish team of Fernando Echavarri & Anton Paz Blanco have rounded the final windward mark in first.

8:38 - Laser - Race 9 Update

Swedish sailor Rasmus Myrgren has moved into the lead in this race. He's currently Paul Goodison's closest rival...

8:36 - Tea spillage

I've just seen the shot on BBC One of Usain Bolt winning the 100 metres final with his shoe lace undone! There's tea all over me now.

8:31 - Star - Race 7 Update

Iain Percy & Andrew Simpson are leading at the final windward mark. The Swedish team of Freddie Loof & Anders Ekstrom are back in 12th. This would move Iain & Bart into the lead overall!

8:28 - Laser Radial - Race 9 Finish

Penny Clark has finished 13th. She's just scraped into the medal race - she's on the same points as Croatian Mateja Petronijevic, but because she won race 3 she's through! Unfortunately her medal chances are over.

8:26 - Tornado - Race 7 Update

The Brits have moved up to 4th at the second windward mark.

8:23 - Laser - Race 9 Update

Now this is getting exciting - Paul Goodison has rounded the windward mark in 4th. If positions stay as they are Paul would have a 20 point lead going into the medal race. I think you know what that means! I'll be watching this one closely!

8:19 - Star - Race 7 Update

The Brits hold their lead down the run.

8:14 - Tornado - Race 7 Update

Leigh McMillan & Will Howden round the windward mark in 7th.

8:08 - Star - Race 7 Update

Iain & Bart lead at the windward mark!

8:06 - Laser Radial - Race 9 Update

Penny Clark has dropped to 14th at the leeward mark. She needs to climb a couple of places to secure a spot in the medal race.

7:51 - Star - Race 7 Start

Racing is now underway. After 2nd in race 6, Iain Percy & Andrew Simpson have moved up to 4th overall. Freddie Loof & Anders Ekstrom are developing a good lead at the top but Iain & Bart are just 3 points behind the German team of Marc Pickel & Ingo Borkowski in second.

7:46 - Laser Radial - Race 9 Update

Mexico's Tania Elias Calles Wolf leads around the windward mark. Penny Clark rounds in 11th.

7:36 - 470 Women - Overall Results

Gold - Australia - Elise Rechichi & Tessa Parkinson
Silver - Holland - Marcelien De Koning & Lobke Berkhout
Bronze - Brazil - Fernanda Oliveira & Isabel Swan

Christina Bassadone & Saskia Clark finish 6th overall - they've moved up from 9th before the medal race.

7:33 - 470 Women - Medal Race Finish

Brazil 1st (they secure bronze), Israel 2nd, Italy 3rd, Great Britain 4th.

7:30 - Laser - Results after Race 8

Going into race 9 (the final race before the medal race) Paul Goodison is on 39 points, Vasilij Zbogar (SLO) is on 56 points, Italian Vasilij Zbogar is on 59 points. Even with his discard counted, Paul Goodison is in the lead so he will lead into the medal race. I find it amazing that the world champion, Australian Tom Slingsby is in 20th - he had his best result of the event in race 8, but that was an 11th...

7:27 - 470 Women - Medal Race Update

Final windward mark; Brazil lead, Israel 2n, Italy 3rd, Great Britain 4th. There's a red flag for someone - looks like the Spanish - penalty turn for them. Christina Bassadone & Saskia Clark would finish 6th overall if positions stay the same.

7:21 - 470 Men - Overall Results

Gold - Australia - Nathan Wilmot & Malcolm Page
Silver - Great Britain - Nick Rogers & Joe Glanfield
Bronze - France - Nicolas Charbonnier & Olivier Bausset

7:19 - 470 Women - Medal Race Update

Leeward mark, Israel 1st, Brazil 2nd, Italy 3rd, Great Britain 4th. Germany & Spain seemed to have a port / starboard going into the leeward mark.

7:12 - 470 Women - Medal Race Update

At the first windward mark; Israel first, Brazil 2nd, Italy 3rd, Spain 4th, Great Britain 5th.

7:11 - Laser - Race 8 Finish

Paul Goodison has finished 4th. This extends his lead at the top of the table to 17 points!

7:08 - Tornado - Race 6 Finish

7th for Leigh McMillan & Will Howden. Johannes Polgar & Florian Spalteholz from Germany have won the race. Leigh & Will are still in 11th overall but the points are tight - they're only 18 points off bronze so can come back in the 4 races before the medal race.

7:06 - Star - Race 6 Finish

Iain & Bart have finished 2nd behind Freddie Loof & Anders Ekstrom from Sweden. A great comeback on the final run.

7:03 - 470 Women - Medal Race Start

One minute to the start - there is a mathmatical posibility of Christina Bassadone & Saskia Clark winning a medal but it's slim. But then again anything can happen in Qingdao!

7:01 - Laser - Race 8 Update

Paul Goodison has climbed to 4th at the final windward mark! They're just coming into the finish.

7:00 - RS:X Men - Race 9 Finish

A 3rd for Nick Dempsey in race 9. Shahar Zubari from Israel won the race and is in 4th overall with Julien Bontemps from France 2nd who moves to within a point of Nick. Regatta leader Tom Ashley from New Zealand finished 8th in the race which makes it just 4 points between first and third. Nick Dempsey is still lying second but is now just 3 points off the lead.

6:56 - RS:X Women - Race 9 Finish

Bryony Shaw wins race 9!

6:56 - Laser Radial - Race 8 Finish

23rd for Penny Clark in race 8. Let's hope she can bounce back in the final race of the day.

6:53 - RS:X Women - Race 9 Update

A 3rd in race 8 for Bryony Shaw. She's currently leading race 9! This would move her to 1 point off the bronze medal position.

6:50 - Tornado - Race 6 Update

Going into the final lap Leigh McMillan & Will Howden are in 10th. They were 4th after the first lap so will be a bit disappointed at the moment. Lets hope they can climb back on the final lap. A 14th in race 5 has put them 11th overall. Work to do here!

6:48 - Star - Race 6 Update

Iain Percy & Andrew Simpson are lying 5th at the final mark in this race. They had an 8th in race 5 so are currently in 6th overall.

6:46 - Laser Radial - Race 8 Update

Penny Clark isn't having such a good day. An 18th in race 7 and she's currently 23rd in race 8. She's hanging onto a medal race place by a thread.

6:42 - Laser - Race 8 Update

Paul Goodison is grinding through the fleet; 15th at the first mark, 10th at the leeward mark.

6:36 - 470 Men - Medal Race Finish

The scoreboard confirms it! Silver medal for Nick Rogers & Joe Glanfield!

6:35 - 470 Men - Medal Race Finish

I think it's silver for Nick & Joe!

6:35 - 470 Men - Medal Race Finish

Where are the Brits? Japan second, Britain 3rd, Spain 4th, France 7th, Dutch 8th... i think. It was so close!

6:34 - 470 Men - Medal Race Finish

Australia win the medal race and gold medal easily.

6:30 - 470 Men - Medal Race Update

Nick Rogers & Joe Glanfield are flying down the run. It looks like they're overtaking the Japanese team of Tetsuya Matsunaga & Taro Ueno ahead of them.

6:29 - 470 Men - Medal Race Update

If positions stay the same Nick & Joe will win silver!

6:28 - 470 Men - Medal Race Update

Italy 5th, France 6th, Argentina, 7th, Holland 8th, Portugal 9th.

6:27 - 470 Men - Medal Race Update

Japan 3rd, Britain up to 4th!

6:27 - 470 Men - Medal Race Update

Australians Nathan Wilmot & Malcolm Page are dominating this race. It looks like the Spanish pairing of Onan Barreiros & Aaron Sarmiento are second at the final windward mark.

6:25 - RS:X Men - Race 8 Finish

A 5th in race 8 has moved Nick Dempsey up into the second overall!

6:22 - 470 Men - Medal Race Update

The wind is up and down - sometimes they're fully trapezing and sometimes they're sitting in. At least it's sunny today!

6:20 - 470 Men - Medal Race Update

Australia hold their lead down the run. The Brits have moved up to 6th at the leeward mark - nice work! This moves them into the bronze medal position.

6:18 - Laser - Race 7 Finish

Great news here - Paul Goodison has extended his lead to 5 points at the top with a race win.

6:14 - 470 Men - Medal Race Update

Australia round the windward mark first, France second, Spain third. Nick & Joe have alot to do - 9th round the windward mark. The glimmer of hope is that the Dutch team are last round the windward mark and they're currently in the bronze medal position overall.

6:11 - 470 Men - Medal Race Update

Good morning! We're on the first beat of this race. Australians Nathan Wilmot & Malcolm Page have already won gold but it is possible for Nick Rogers & Joe Glanfield to climb to silver.
