Dragon World Championship by Tivoli Hotels & Resorts at Vilamoura, Portugal - Day 2

by Prow Media 13 May 20:17 BST 10-17 May 2025

Day 2 of the Dragon World Championship by Tivoli Hotels & Resorts delivered everything sailors could hope for: fair racing, seamless organisation, and a warm community atmosphere.

The day began with the traditional Skippers Meeting, where the Race Committee reviewed the day's plan and reminded teams of procedures. Under sunny skies and light breeze conditions, the fleet completed two races as scheduled, keeping the competition tight and the standings dynamic.

Fantastic sailing conditions out on the water — 15 knots of breeze from 250 degrees and 1-metre waves creating a perfect rhythm.

After racing, sailors gathered at the event village for a well-deserved Happy Hour, reconnecting over cold drinks, with the backdrop of Vilamoura's golden light and relaxed marina vibe. It was the perfect way to unwind and share stories from the water.

Looking Ahead - Day 3 Agenda:

  • 11:00 - Skipper's Meeting
  • 13:00 - First possible warning signal (up to 2 races scheduled)
  • After races - Happy Hour
