Released every four years, the RYA is proud to announce the newest edition of the RYA Racing Rules of Sailing (2025-2028) outlining the compulsory rules for sailors competing around the world.

The RYA has a wide selection of racing books in different formats to support all levels of sail racing, from the basic rules books to more detailed explanations of each rule, cutting edge interactive eBooks, case books, tactics, and coaching.

Available to order now from the RYA shop, for the 2025-2028 rules cycle, there are various versions available including print (RRP: £12.99) and for the first time, audiobook (RRP: £12.99), and eBook (RRP: £12.99).

As the National Governing Body for the UK, the RYA Racing Rules of Sailing 2025-2028, not only features the World Sailing rules in full, but is also the only publication to contain the RYA Racing Charter and the RYA National Prescriptions - essential for racing in the UK.

The latest version also includes serval key updates including new official racing terminology and definitions, changes to 'At Marks and Obstruction' sections and a completely reworked outline for 'Protests, Redress, Hearings and Appeals'.

The news rules will apply from 2025 and so, it's key that all those looking to compete familiarize themselves with the new changes.

Steen Ingerslev, Head of Publications commented: "We're excited to introduce this new edition, which reflects the latest developments in the sport. Our goal is to provide sailors with the tools they need to excel, whether they're just starting out or competing at the highest levels. This resource is more than just a rulebook— it is a guide to mastering the art of racing. And with our expanded digital formats, there's something for everyone, whether you prefer print, eBooks, or audiobooks."

Purchase your print or eBook copy now on the RYA web shop - www.rya.org.uk/shop. RYA members can take advantage of 15% discount on all RYA publications.

The audiobook will be available through Apple Books, Google Play, Spotify and numerous other channels from mid-October.

If you are a race official, looking to learn more about the changes included in the book, the RYA will be holding the RYA Race Officials National Conference on Saturday 25 and Sunday 26 January 2025 in Birmingham. Taking place every four years, this is an opportunity for officials to indulge in focused topics, such as changes to the racing rules of sailing and technical sessions relevant to each race official discipline. More information on the conference including ticketing will be available on the RYA website from late September.
