Pennant Races at Overy Staithe Sailing Club

Overy Staithe Sailing Club's 2024 season continued this weekend with two races held on Saturday 13 April. One of these had been postponed from the previous week when wind conditions were unsuitable for racing.

There were some cracking reaches with a force 3 south westerly and committee boat starts. Alex Scoles was burning round in his Europe with OKs snapping at his heels. Debs Crissell was having her first race in her new Synergy Marine Europe. Both races were scored using personal handicaps.

The next races will be held 11 and 12 May, with the fleet competing for the Goakes Trophy.

Nod Race at Overy Staithe
46 boats ranging from Sharpies to Toppers enjoyed sparkling conditions Overy Staithe SC hosted their annual 'Nod' Race on Monday 21 August. Reduced wind compared to earlier in the week for the final day The final day of Norfolk Week saw reduced wind compared to earlier in the week, with winds around 8-10 knots, dying off in the second race to almost nothing, leading to tows required to all boats coming back into the creek.
