After nearly a full week of wet UK weather, we were greeted to a dry day with a light westerly breeze. Five Skippers entered the one day Saturday event and the cards had already been made out. As we know with an odd number sailing, each would take their turn out from the water with a bye.

We had three volunteer mates for the far bank. Peter had brought along his son in law, Kevin had also returned back out from retirement to help from afar and Alan was also available to offer his assistance.

Three points out and Eric Austwick had already left Tony standing for a great lead on the first race with a nice borrowed boat off Derek. Peter Isles was up for a good day sailing and the third Classic Marblehead was sailed by David Geldard, leaving just Peter Whiteside and Tony Wilson sailing the older shorter keeled Vintage type boats.

It had been a gentle day with not too much excitement and we just sailed the one round to finish by about 2pm. David and Eric had sailed well, but Peter's Lumi Green flying machine was the one to take the day's prize. The next time and final showing for these boats this year, is to be in a couple of weeks for the October weekend tournament.

Results:

1 Peter Isles 16pts
2 David Geldard 14pts
3 Eric Austwick 10pts
4 Peter Witeside 5 pts
5 Tony Wilson 5pts
