Excitement is mounting amongst the UK RS Tera fleet as preparations are well under way for the Rooster UK RS Tera Nationals 2023. Class Development Manager, Marcus Collingbourne, is pleased the Association are able to bring the UK National Championships to the Royal Victoria Yacht Club on the Isle of Wight.

"Following our recent Class policy of moving our Nationals around our coastal regions of England and Wales, 2023 marks the completion of the first circuit, the UK RS Tera Class Association is excited to be heading off to a new Championship venue on the South Coast for our fleet. We are looking forward to working with the host club and are grateful for the support of the other island sailing clubs for their support for what promises to be a truly memorable event for our sailors and their families."

The racing will be held on the Eastern Solent, and it will be a great experience for the young sailors to test their skills on these famous waters.

In line with the class ethos of Fun - Learn - Race, the Nationals will be hosting social events every day, fun and games on and off the water, and will allow families the chance to explore this jewel of the UK coastline.

Entry for the event is due to open at 7pm this Friday, March 3rd 2023, and with places limited to 100 boats in the Main fleet and 24 in the Train & Race Regatta fleet be sure to sign up early!

The Association is once again aiding its sailing families by offering a discounted entry for siblings, and this year will again be subsidising the coaching costs for the Regatta fleet, supporting our future sailors.

UK RS Tera Class Association Vice Chair-Racing, Simon Lomas Clarke commented: "The UK Tera Class are delighted that the 2023 National Championships will be hosted by the Royal Victoria Yacht Club on the Isle of Wight. The Island's sailors are regulars at UK Tera events and are looking forward to welcoming lots of visitors.

"The Club's great facilities, warm hospitality and the world class sailing waters of the Solent promises to make the event the highlight of the summer for the UK's best young Tera sailors."

Jane Barrett Bellingham, Rear Commodore Sailing of the host club added: "The Royal Victoria Yacht Club is very excited to be hosting the RS Tera Nationals 2023 on behalf of the Isle of Wight sailing clubs.

"We look forward to welcoming sailors and their families for what promises to be a great event at our Clubhouse in Fishbourne from 12-14th August. With a large lawn for social activities and two slipways, we will have an action-packed schedule both on and off the water over three days for both the Main and Regatta fleets.

"We are also very pleased to be partnered with Wightlink as our travel sponsor. The Isle of Wight's sailing clubs have a large fleet of local RS Tera sailors who will be keen to showcase the island and their local waters, and we do hope you are able to extend your visit to take in some of the sights."
