The 35th anniversary of the iconic PURU Transgascogne race is fast approaching, with sailing enthusiasts from all over the world gearing up for what promises to be an unforgettable experience. The race is set to take place on July 22nd 2023, starting from Port-Bourgenay on the west coast of France and taking competitors on a challenging journey through the Bay of Biscay, across the Atlantic and onto the stunning shores of the Basque Country in Getxo, Spain.

Over the past 35 years, the PURU Transgascogne has become renowned for its challenging nature and its ability to inspire, challenge and thrill. With the race now only months away, sailors are already preparing their boats and themselves for the test ahead.

Some of the most memorable races in past years was when Swiss founder of The Sea Cleaners, Yvan Bourbon won the race. With a passion for both sailing and the environment, Yvan's Sea Cleaners will once again play a role in the race, serving as official charity support. Their presence will serve as a powerful reminder of the need for action to protect our oceans, and their efforts to raise awareness and funds for their cause will be a highlight of the race. You can learn more about the efforts of sea cleaners at www.theseacleaners.org.

The PURU Transgascogne will have the same sponsor as 2021 in PURU Suisse continues as title sponsor for the 2023 edition. The race in 2021 marked the first time the race changed its name to a company sponsor and with a such successful race in 2021 this continuation will surely mean as much excitement to the event as previously. For more information on PURU Suisse and their involvement in the race, visit www.puru.com/puru-transgascogne. PURU is a Swiss based ecological focused brand whose flagship product is their reef safe 100% natural mineral based sunscreen that uses the safest certified sunblock ingredient for personal health and the oceans.

As the start of the race draws closer, the anticipation and excitement among sailors and spectators alike continues to grow. The PURU Transgascogne has become a staple of the sailing calendar, a race that embodies the spirit of adventure and challenge, and this year's event is sure to be no different.

For the sailors, the PURU Transgascogne represents another great opportunity to take part in a race that has become synonymous with excellence. For the spectators, it offers a chance to witness the courage, determination and skill of some of the world's greatest sailors.

With the countdown to the start of the race now under way, the PURU Transgascogne is poised to be the biggest and most exciting event yet. So, as we prepare for an unforgettable experience, one that will test the limits of both sailor and boat, and that will leave an indelible mark on all those who take part, let us raise a glass to this historic race and the memories that are sure to be made.
